I must enjoy being lost.
I came to abstract painting by the back door—I entered that realm and was lost to the beauty of endless possibilities. We all have memories of beautiful things we’ve seen, and maybe we’ve also imagined beautiful things: graceful lines; harmonizing colors; lyrical shapes. These are the elements I seek.
Most of my abstracts are untitled with a reference number. This allows the viewer greater freedom to first, experience, and then interpret a personal meaning of the painting for oneself, opening wider the door to possible dialogue between the work, the viewer, and myself.
